The Indian toxicological scenario: From theory to practice

This course focuses on the various activities of Toxicovigilance including poison information services, management of chronic and acute poisoning, drug abuse and toxicity management including pharmacovigilance aspects. This course will be delivered by group of experts having experience in the field of clinical toxicology and drug safety. The training ensures both observership along with contact classes to reinforce the content effectively. The course is coordinated by Toxicovigilance, and drug safety centre has collaboration with more than four industries, two international universities and eight speciality units of MAHE.

Course Content

Providing poison information through evidence- based approach; Acute Pesticide/herbicide poisoning and its management;Chronic poisoning and its management; Snake bite and Sting bite of bees/wasps, spider bites and Its management through real cases; Indian practice of drug abuse management and Rehabilitation aspects; Hands on training of drug related adverse drug reactions on identification, confirmation and causality assessment of ADRs by using PvPI form
